This one-of-a-kind ring by British jewellery designer Ruby Taglight has been hand-carved out of wax, before being cast in 9ct recycled yellow gold and set with 12 ethically mined Canada Mark diamonds.
The design depicts an Astrolabe. These incredibly versatile machines could function as a clock, a compass and an astrological guide, and have been traced back to the 6th Century.
The signet ring is scattered with diamonds to represent stars. Ruby says: "The markings on the ring hint at a journey, giving the face of the signet the role of a map or a chart."
Every piece of Ruby Taglight jewellery is signed with a small laboratory-grown ruby hidden somewhere in the design. It has also been signed with the date of its creation.
